The most frequently asked question
about our new school is: Where are you located? We are as eager
as the parents of Portland to know the answer to this question.
As we continue to interact with the greater Portland community,
the location will be determined by the availability of space.
A safe and friendly location for children will be the most important
criteria for where we locate the school.
At present, our intention is
to locate in SE Portland so that we can serve the diversity
of families in that area where there are not currently many
alternatives for elementary schools.

For Prospective Students and
Their Parents
Fundamental to all students
coming to The Holistic Education Elementary School is their
wish to do so. We do not believe that such a wish is possible
if the prospective student has not had a chance to see and experience
a little of the school for themselves. This is especially true
for the youngest students for whom being in a different place
with different people can be a daunting prospect. We therefore
expect, as part of the application procedure, all students to
visit the school, to meet the staff, and to see for themselves
the environment in which they will learn.
We will also ask that the parents
of prospective students meet with the principal to discuss the
prospective student's current situation and needs.
For Prospective Staff Members
The Holistic Education Elementary
School has already reviewed applications and prospective teachers,
and found an abundance of interest and talent by Portland teachers
who would like to be involved with this endeavor. As we get
closer to the time of opening, we will accept applications on
a rolling basis, and should any positions become available,
we will keep your application on file. Interested applicants
